OBJECTIVE: To obtain an anchor or anchor/reporter position, a position where my creativity, desire, education and experience will produce rewards for both my employer and myself.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • May 2014– Present: WJHG TV – Panama City Beach, FL (NBC)

    • Co-anchor 5p/6p/10p newscasts

    • Shoot, write and edit a bi-weekly franchise story

    • Write and approve scripts in ENPS (previously iNews)

    • Record and submit radio newscasts to local radio group

    • Create web stories/social media posts

    • Edit on Adobe Premiere 7.0. (in conjunction with other elements in the Adobe suite of products)

    • Shoot camera

    • Mentor young reporters

  • May 2012 – May 2014: WOI-DT – ABC5 in West Des Moines, IA.

    • Anchor weekend newscasts.

    • Fill-in anchor for morning/midday/weekday evening newscasts.

    • Report 3 days a week (multi-media journalist.)

    • Post web stories.

    • Edit on Adobe 5.0.

    • Write copy on NewsKing newsroom software.

 

  • Feb. 2011 – May 2012: KLEW TV – Ch. 3, Lewiston, Idaho (CBS)

    • Anchored and reported for the 5p, 6p, and 11p daily newscast.

    • Wrote conversational news stories, including converting press releases and AP stories to broadcast style scripts.

    • Familiar with ENPS – ability to write, format, create graphics, create supers and time selections in the AP software program.

    • Produced the 11pm live newscast.

    • Fill-in producer for 5p and 6p newscast.

    • Edited using Adobe and Edius non-linear editing software.

    • Shot video using Sony DVC Pro camera.

 

  • 2004 – 2010: The Honolulu Star Advertiser - Packaging Manager

    • Oversaw the newspaper’s packaging and distribution center.

    • Primary objective was to ensure that all newspaper sectioning and advertising supplements were packaged in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.

 

  • 1995 – 2003; Adelphia Communications (formerly Comcast Cablevision) - Producer/Reporter/Anchor (P/T)

    • Reported for and anchored local-originated sports and newscast.

    • Wrote readers, edited, shot camera, created character generation and assigned stories to a team of reporters.

    • Exceptional at cultivating and maintaining key relationships with sources, other journalists, and members of my own team.
